The "historic number 10" of the Beach Selecta was crowned as the top scorer of the recent El Salvador Besach Soccer Cup 2024 tournament, held in Costa del Sol, marking his return after a year and a half of absence.

The comeback of the legendary Salvadoran beach soccer player, Agustín Ruiz, revived the hopes and winning aspirations of national fans supporting beach soccer, following his performance in the recent El Salvador Besach Soccer Cup 2024 tournament, where he was awarded as the top scorer with five goals.

In his return to the Selecta, "Tin Ruiz" contributed with goals and plays to the performance of the national team and, despite not winning the tournament, was a key player in the spectacular comeback (4-3) that El Salvador made against the Swiss team, ranked 10th in the Beach Soccer Worldwide rankings.

During the beach soccer tournament held in Costa del Sol, the Salvadoran player scored a goal against Morocco in the first match, as well as a goal in the match against the United States, but his push to become the top scorer came in the last match of the competition, scoring three goals against Switzerland.

At 36 years old, Agustín Ruiz is considered one of the main references in beach soccer in El Salvador, but due to personal problems and ankle injuries, he had stayed away from the field for more than a year and a half, which meant a significant setback in the various competitions that the country participated in during 2023.

Regarding "Tin's" return, the national coach, Rudys Gallo, also recently expressed joy for the player's contribution to the team, explaining that he had been part of several processes during 2023, but due to personal reasons, he had not completed them and had been absent from the competitions.

"Tin" began his career as a beach soccer player in 2008 when he participated with the Selecta in the pre-World Cup held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In this competition, he was crowned as the top scorer, and since then, he has made a significant mark in the national history of the Beach Selecta, alongside Frank Velázquez, as the two main references and top scorers of the national team to date."
