Experience the partial solar eclipse of April 8 in El Salvador.

If you love astronomical phenomena and want to experience the eclipse this Monday, April 8, take note of the places you can go to join the event.

Do you love astronomy or simply enjoy contemplating the wonders of the cosmos? Well, on April 8, you can join the people who will experience the solar eclipse that will darken North America from Salvadoran soil.

Yes, although only 40% of the celestial event will be visible in the country, there are places where it can be admired peacefully. As detailed by the Salvadoran Association of Astronomy (ASTRO) on its digital platforms, the partial concealment of the sun in the Salvadoran sky will occur between 11:12 am and 1:32 pm.

From the city of San Salvador, 31.78% of concealment will be visible, in San Miguel it will be 28.77%, and in Santa Ana it will be 33.44%. This percentage detailed by ASTRO refers to "how much of the apparent area of the Sun is hidden by the Moon," which is "different from the magnitude or fraction of the Sun's diameter that is hidden by the Moon."

But this partial way of witnessing the eclipse also has its magic, so there are a couple of institutions you can go to admire it properly, at noon this Monday. The first place is the Micro-Macro Observatory of the Don Bosco University, located on the Soyapango campus.

On its platforms, the observatory has shared the details of the event, inviting those who wish and can join them. And for Salvadorans who wish to see it from the eastern part of the country, they can do so at the Multidisciplinary Eastern Faculty of the University of El Salvador (UES) in San Miguel.

"We will have special viewers and telescopes equipped with filters so you can enjoy the eclipse safely and excitingly. In addition, you will find stands where you can learn more answer your questions, and share interesting data about this cosmic event," reads the Instagram profile of Passion for Astronomy.

Furthermore, they announce the realization of various activities to enjoy with friends and family. If you are up for it, there is still time to coordinate and join Salvadorans who will experience this new astronomical experience of the 21st century.
